With a change in musical influences and style, and the subsequent departure of Steve Pike, it has become obvious to us that the time has come to close the book on Sweet Apple Pie.
There were lots of opinions about SAP, a lot of pre-concieved notions, some good, some bad. The name was fairly well known, but a lot of what it stood for is gone now. Instead of trying to fight an old image, an old sound, and an old attitude, we've decided to wipe the slate clean.
As a result of this, Sweet Apple Pie is no more. It was fun, but it's not what who we are anymore, nor is it what we want to be. We've been reconsidering the music we play, the way we want to play it, and the image we want to present. We're not a jam band anymore. We don't play Dave Matthews songs anymore. We don't wear pink anymore.
We're coming up with a new name, writing new songs, we're looking for a new bass player, and I'm redesigning the web page (again!). News will be posted here occasionally, for the time being. It may be infrequent, but whenever anything significant happens, we'll let you know about it.
Keep your eye on this space, and thanks for your patience. We'll be sure to make the new band well worth the wait.
